Ankle Joint

Relations of the joint:



Anteriorly:
	From medial to lateral : Tendons of tibialis anterior Tendons of extensor hallucis longus Anterior tibial vessels Deep peroneal nerve Tendons of extensor digitorum longus Tendons of peroneus tertius.


Posteriorly:
	The tendo calcaneus, separated from the joint capsule by a pad of fat.


Posteromedially:
	From before backwards, The tendons of tibialis posterior Flexor digitorum longus, Posterior vessels, Tibial nerve, Tendon of flexor hallucis longus. Try and identify these relations on the illustrations alongside.


Posterolaterally:
	The tendons of peroneus longus and brevis.
